Being a Servant what does it mean?

Since my last post, my father and one of my best friends passed away within a week of one another, neither expected - except that we all expect to leave this world.

I have wondered how you serve when you are trying to reorient yourself, find your bearings, and all while being so inwardly focused? It is difficult for me to explain or reconcile this, but somehow you must continue to serve others, if it is your true nature. It becomes your true nature through faith in Christ and a focus on what you can do for others, and somehow your own problems shrink and fade as we work to help others.

God Bless you and yours.

Disingenuous Nature

I am confounded by and marvel at the American liberal [who by the way all think they are elite!] mindset about rights, who they honor, who they denigrate, and generally the thought process through which they arrive at these conclusions.

They honor diversity, of almost any foreigner, whether dictator, Muslim extremist [another question - if the "moderates" won't stand up to the extremist, aren't they at least all tacitly extremist?], or socialist. Interestingly, they classify socialist/communist who attack someone in this country as "right-wing" to further obfuscate and confuse the issue, while avoiding any personal responsibility for their camp.

They honor those who would first attack them and deny them the right to expound on the non-sense they push, by backing totalitarians, or anyone else over any one who is traditional or conservative. You know, the people who founded this country, and those who fought to keep it free, while insuring the liberals are allowed to spout their increasingly vile, hateful, and discriminatory philosophy. They want to silence those in this country who don't agree with them, particularly targeting Christians, who honor diversity, but serving as sycophants for such as Che' or Hugo Chavez. All, just as their great legal arm the ACLU seeks to destroy or outlaw anything that smacks of what a person brought up in a Judeo-Christian environment would think is wrong. In fact, I think their "test" for determining what is wrong is to determine what some traditional American would favor, then attacking that position and the people who hold it.

One example, they abhor capital punishment, BUT would have you thrown in jail or killed to protect their convenience, they have labeled as a right, they call "choice" which includes and honors the ability to access abortion even late term, when viable children are killed so that they are not an inconvenience to the mother. While I recognize the logical inconsistency of favoring life, and capital punishment at least one has done something to deserve punishment in some form, the other is innocent, other than being conceived in the wrong place at the wrong time. While many parents are unable to find suitable adoption candidates. I guess if they could reliably determine the potential for a baby to become a fascist/dictator, radical Muslim or any other person who could be counted on to grow up to hate America, and what it has up to now, always stood for.

MAD DASH away from his platform

Well, the "savior" has taken office. Unlike the opposition during the last President's tenure, those self-proclaimed "we are smarter than everyone, do as we say, not as we do" crowd are calling for unity, and a spirit of bi-partisanship.

Where was was this high minded spirit of cooperation during the previous administration, no where! They condemned the former President, lied about him, after supporting decisions made, and did everything conceivable to undermine him, now you are supposed to be so stupid that you support the savior, because it is good for the country.

You are not supposed to figure this out, but they run around on private jets, while condemning you for buying an SUV to carry you and 3 kids around [you are not smart enough to give them confidence you made the decision wisely]. Their time is so valuable, and they so important that a private jet for 8, carrying them and 2 cronies across the country is a necessity.

All the while, we are supposed to be too stupid, or so busy paying attention to our own dwindling portfolios, underwater mortgages, and the bailout of everyone and anyone with connections, that we don't see that the appointments, and policies being implemented are not what was promised during the campaign. He has already shown his hand as a child killer supporter, I know it is not politically correct, but it is a choice, like deciding to kill someone who pisses you off, no less. He is appointing those who will seek to feather the nests of their cronies, undermine, silence and punish anyone not toeing the party line, and take our liberties, because we can't be trusted with them, only they can?

We are at a crossroads, we have people leading this country who believe the failure of past social engineering and redistribution of wealth was because the people trying it weren't "good people" like them, and probably not as smart. They want to take your right to defend yourself, making you further dependent on them and the government they control for lif[e and liberty, allow partial birth infanticide, nationalize/control banking and financial markets [the government runs things so efficiently, imagine social security and post office lines for everything, with a person with a crappy attitude waiting to "help" you at the end of it!].

The traditional way of life, neighbor helping neighbor because it is the right thing to do, liberty to pursue your dreams in your own business free of stiffling government regulation, the right to have property, defend you, your family and that property, and not saddling your grandchildren with debt that bails out a bunch of asshole ivy league/wall street types who made bad business decisions, get government money, and proceed to put their boot on the throat of those who didn't get bailouts to make them feel like they are business geniuses.

It is time for those who value America as a free country, offering opportunity to all of good spirit and character, and the values and ideals that built it to band together. The drumbeat of succession may be in the air again, if these silk stocking, self-serving wusses we have in Washington keep on screwing everybody but themselves and their cronies.

Catholics [I am not talking about the Kerry Catholics who go to Mass but don't honor or abide by the churches teachings], Protestants and others of faith who are of a kindred spirit to take this country back from those who think burglars have more rights to break into your house than you do to protect it and your family, those who know babies have their own skeletal and circulatory system in the first few months [and are counted as a person if the mother is killed] are people not a fetal tissue mass, and don't think the government knows better or that we are here to serve it, band together and take this country back from the moral relativist who want to force everything they support on others, and stamp out even the difference of opinion about it.

It is those people, not traditionalists that gave birth to, nurture, and encourage marginalizing difference of opinion, and the person who hold them. They have taken over college campuses and will take everything until they get popped in the nose every time they try to encroach further, and silence you, while labeling you as some "ist", all the while staying in power by keeping those who vote for them, dependent on them. They are the 21st century plantation owners and oppressors. A revival is needed, this country wasn't built by cross-dressers, who killed babies by calling their lives and choice, and the government by taking money from hard working folks and giving it to people who have babies but no family, because they get more money from the government!

Oh, one last thing - try that "I forgot" defense next time the IRS audits you!!!

Post Modernism

Disclaimer: I am highly frustrated after two days of driving in morning traffic, but the overall sentiment, unfortunately, applies to our current day world as I experience it anyway.

The denigration of civil society is in full tilt! I see pantie-waist geeks who through the metamorphic properties of a 3,000 pound car and/or tinted windows become bad asses! Idiots who couldn't keep at job at Burger King, who appoint themselves governors of the road. They actively [passive aggressive] drive to block, check and otherwise attempt to impose their will on others, since having gleefully joined the new fascists, know better than others what is best for those others! And, God forbid, they are not in a position to block or force others to follow them, by cutting people off, or moderating speed to prevent the free flow of other cars - they govern with their horns.

These people would have had their asses kicked in any society, existing pre-car [which along with the Internet provides some level of anonymity, and protection from direct threats], and most would not act this way, but for the new fascist group think of the post modern. They are in full tilt, to destroy the Judeo-Christian ethic of do unto others as you would have them do unto you. No, they want to cut people off, honk and otherwise evidence their disapproval and correction of you, at every opportunity, including situations where anyone with an IQ of 65, can see everyone on a road is moving over, moving at less than 15 mph, and have 2 to 4 car lengths between, but because someone moves over first, they think they control the lane, therefore granting them jurisdiction to decide who can use that lane in front of them.

Bullshit, we live in a society of Pansie asses, who if confronted outside their car, are hateful people, but don't have the backbone to do anything other than be the passive-aggressive jackasses this society is creating at break-neck pace. Of course, I can take comfort, that if they get their most fervent wish, of a Mad-Max, post apocalyptic world, they will be the first to starve, get beat up, or shot - ironic the very people who want these things [like the chap who threw his shoes at President Bush in Iraq], would be the first tortured or killed in the world they romanticize.

Meanwhile, I chasten myself to pray for them, ask for blessing and a change of their heart, but it is mighty hard, having the ability to do so, not to get out of your car, and see if they are really that angry!?

Big Box Retailers and the Death of Service

Those old enough to recall neighborhood grocery stores, even meat markets and local hardware stores, will have a frame of reference to allow consideration of this comparison.

It was Clarence Saunders who killed grocery stores as they were known at the turn of the last century [or thereabouts]. Previously, customers generally came to the store, handed a list to the clerk who gathered the items and checked them out. Mr. Piggly Wiggly came to the idea [by comparison of another business' example which slips my mind now, that allowed customers to wait on themselves.

Skip to this century and they stores are mostly very large, having mostly forced the smaller family or service oriented businesses into the shadows. People are an expensive asset, and cut into shareholder [dare I suggest Corporate big-wig/executives] profit or compensation. NOW, we have stores that don't want to hire individuals to help others, except in name, and more recently want YOU TO CHECK YOURSELF OUT.

These self-service checkouts are the latest, given the death of Gomer/Goober topping off your car's tank, to "allow" you to help yourself faster. Now if you want help or service you have to find a remaining small store, a rare/unique large store, or become a researcher and get the information [and probably the product] off the Internet. What progress.

Terminator versus Humanists?

First, I like certain science fiction. So, I was watching a Terminator episode. In this episode, the cyborg, beautiful and lithely played by Summer Glau, using the extra powers of analysis and perception granted these future bots, informed a young man in a wheel chair that his bone cancer had returned. Seemingly, no emotion, just a communication of information, believed in her "chip" to be useful to the person, and communicated accurately, clinically, and pointedly.

Compare you run of the mill, new fascist, humanist. This brand (is there another?) of relativism sets great store by non-offensive conduct where they prefer speech auditors and mind police to prevent any group from being criticized, labeled or profiled. If they can't control what you think, so as to conform with their heightened intellect and compassion, they will control what you say. It matters not if any of it conforms to facts, proven knowledge or thousands of years of experience, it must be quashed.

Interesting, to see how we survive when form is elevated so far above substance that meaningful communications are proscribed or at least limited, so that everyone feels good - presumably at least everyone except the victims of the warlords, and dictators they find quaint, and the unborn children who are either convenient or not. When will this logic be expanded to allow the elimination of those, already born who are just an annoyance, or even a burden?

We already see that, once the refuge of honest free thought, college campuses, have become militant conformist. Can stifling those who disagree or have an objectionable, lead to any progress?

The balance between governance and freedom

It struck me as I watched the news today, as the obligatory "new fascist" opined on the need to rein in some capitalist companies effort to publicize its wares.

The offense, selling something consisting of beef with too high a fat count, at a low price. Thus achieving the trifecta of political incorrectness - harming the climate through inefficient production of food - cows we are told are inefficient, cause more "greenhouse" gases than "new fascists", selling for a low price exploits the poor (who presumably are the only ones who
would buy a tasty, but not expensive burger), and high fat content which should be legislated, since we all know it causes cancer.

Have we arrived at a point in this country's history that someone can support legislation of product offerings on the grounds they might be popular with the wrong people, it is or might not be good for them, or might (whether there is proof or not) harm mother earth?

No irony that these same groups are all about supporting an alternative lifestyle that definitely has led to many having a disease that as yet is incurable?

Regardless, of your opinion, it seems safe to say that Libertarians are dead, as of this writing - everyone should have imposed upon them what "I" think is correct, oh, which changes, unless it is offensive, unless of course, you are some unprotected class.
